Bio

Gregor Karlovšek is an independent senior expert in strategic and financial advisory, company valuation, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and turnarounds. He works at the intersection of energy, finance, technology, logistics, agri-food and retail, combining business, financial and operational perspectives.

He holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Economics from the University of Ljubljana, as well as an MBA in Finance and Control for the Energy Industry from the University of Groningen. He combines more than two decades of business experience with technical knowledge, financial expertise and an analytical approach.

His experience includes leading energy-trading departments, product development, major energy transactions and managing portfolios valued at up to EUR 1.2 billion. As interim Group CFO, he led the transformation of the finance function in a company with approximately EUR 80 million in annual revenue and 400 employees. Before that, he led the turnaround of a company with EUR 55 million in revenue and approximately 100 employees, as well as the successful carve-out and sale of a business unit. He also has extensive experience in financing, transaction structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and financial and operational restructuring.

He focuses particularly on integrating the business and financial perspectives in complex transformations, restructurings and transactions. His approach connects strategy, finance and operational execution to improve business performance, manage key risks and create sustainable value. He works with established companies, start-ups and fast-growing businesses, as well as companies facing challenging financial and operational situations.

He is a licensed business valuer (SIR) and a member of SI.RISK
